This Privacy Policy explains how Liragen (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use Liragen Insights and this website (the “Service”). By using the Service you agree to this policy.

Information we collect
- Account information — the details you provide when you sign up (e.g., name, email, organization).
- Research data you upload — sequencing data, sample metadata, and files you submit for analysis, plus the results we generate. This is expected to be de-identified; see Human and sensitive data below.
- Usage data — basic technical information needed to operate and secure the Service (e.g., log data, device/browser information).
- Cookies and similar technologies — we use only what is strictly necessary to operate the Service, such as keeping you signed in and remembering your display preferences. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking technologies, and we do not share data with advertising networks.
Human and sensitive data
The Service is built for research use on de-identified data. Please do not upload data that directly identifies an individual — names, contact details, medical record numbers, or similar identifiers — or data that carries special handling obligations, such as protected health information under HIPAA.
By uploading data you confirm that it has been de-identified and that you have obtained whatever approvals and consents your institution or applicable law requires, including ethics or IRB approval where that applies. We do not seek identifiable personal data through uploads, we are not set up to receive it, and we do not act as a HIPAA business associate. Where we become aware that identifiable data has been uploaded, we may remove it. If you believe that has happened, contact us and we will help you remove it.
How we use your information
- To provide, operate, and support the Service and run the analyses you request.
- To secure the Service, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot issues.
- To communicate with you about your account, support, and service updates.
- To comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information or your research data, and we do not use your research data to train third-party models.
How we store and protect data
Your data is stored in an access-controlled environment and transmitted over HTTPS/TLS. See our Security page for more detail. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Sharing and disclosure
We share information only: (a) with service providers who help us operate the Service, under confidentiality obligations; (b) with the organization that provides you access to the Service, where you reached it through a partner or under another brand, limited to what they need to provide, bill for, and support it; (c) when required by law or to protect rights and safety; or (d) in connection with a business transfer.

If you reached us through a partner
Some organizations offer the Service under their own brand or as part of their own offering. If you reached us that way, your agreement is with that organization and their privacy terms apply to your relationship with them. We handle your data to provide the Service to them under our agreement with them, and not for our own separate purposes. Questions about how they handle your data are best directed to them; if you are unsure whether this applies to you, ask the organization that gave you access or contact us.
Data retention and deletion
We keep the data you upload and the results we generate only as long as needed to provide the Service. Our policy is to retain it for around 120 days, and actual retention can vary with the plan you are on and how you use the Service. If you need it kept for a set period, or removed sooner, ask us and we will arrange it. Account information is kept while your account is active. You can request export or deletion of your projects and data at any time by contacting us.
Your rights
Depending on where you are, privacy law may give you rights over your personal data — typically to access it, correct it, receive a copy, ask us to delete it, or object to certain processing. We honor these requests regardless of where you are based. To make one, contact contactus@liragen.com; we may need to verify your identity first, and we will respond within the time your local law allows.
International data transfers
Your data may be processed in the United States or other countries where we or our service providers operate. Where data is transferred internationally, we take steps to ensure it remains protected in line with this policy. If you have specific data-residency requirements, contact us.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We’ll post the updated version here and revise the “Last updated” date.
