The people behind and alongside Liragen

Liragen is a collaboration between software engineers and biologists, rooted in plant molecular cell biology. These are some of the people who build the platform and shape the science behind it.

Kevin Herzig

Founder & CTO · Liragen

Vision, strategy & technology

Kevin Herzig sets Liragen’s vision and technical strategy and oversees the platform end to end. With 35+ years in software engineering and 15+ years in enterprise architecture, he has built a career turning complex systems into products people can actually use — the throughline behind Liragen’s mission to make advanced genomics accessible to every researcher, no code required.

Eunjeong Cha 차은정

Founder · Liragen

Eunjeong Cha brings 25+ years in software engineering — more than 20+ years of them in healthcare — spanning hands-on data analysis through to leading large, multi-location software delivery organizations. At Liragen, that experience sets the platform’s direction: turning advanced bioinformatics into tools researchers can use without writing a line of code.

Dr. Hee Jin Park 박희진

Professor, Biological Science · Chonnam National University

Principal Investigator, Plant Stress Lab

Dr. Park studies how plants sense, respond, and adapt to adverse environments. Her research in plant physiology and molecular cell biology spans flowering regulation under stress, post-translational modification and epigenetic pathways, potassium–immunity interactions, and abiotic stress responses. A research collaborator of Liragen, her work in plant molecular cell biology is part of the scientific foundation the platform is built on.

Focus

  • Plant stress physiology & adaptation
  • Flowering regulation, PTM & epigenetics
  • Potassium–immunity interactions

Background

  • Professor, Biological Science, Chonnam National University (2022–present)
  • Ph.D., Horticulture, Purdue University
